Position: Investment Analyst
Choate Investment Advisors is a leading wealth management firm based in Boston. With approximately $3 billion in assets, the Firm provides investment advice to individuals and institutions. We seek to hire an Investment Analyst to join our elite team of seasoned professionals.
A successful candidate will possess a balance of three skill sets:
- Quantitative skills. Experience working with complex data
and performing statistical and financial analysis. Applicants should have a demonstrated
aptitude for high level mathematics and strong data management skills. Experience with MATLAB software is
desired. The Investment Analyst
will be required to synthesize and communicate the results of this analysis to
members of the team as well as to our clients.
- Project management
skills. Experience in managing
complex projects with multiple stakeholders. Applicants should have a track record
of success in leading projects to a successful conclusion under inflexible
deadlines. The Investment Analyst
will be required to articulate the status of project work and to adapt to
changing circumstances. Projects
will range from client-specific matters to internal operational
improvements.
- Interpersonal skills. The Investment Analyst will be joining
a team of bright, hard-working, and intellectually curious people. From the outset, the applicant should
be prepared to present cogent, well-reasoned arguments and engage in daily
debates on a range of investment and business topics. A sense of humor is
mandatory.
Specific experience or qualifications are secondary to strong intrinsic abilities and a willingness to work hard. We seek an ambitious candidate with a Bachelor’s degree from a top-tier university with 2-3 years of work experience, ideally in an investment-related field.
