Description:
Ernst & Young's Financial Services Office (FSO) is a unique, industry-focused business unit that provides a broad range of integrated services that leverage deep industry experience with strong functional capability and product knowledge. FSO’s Risk Advisory Services (RAS) practice provides business and risk advisory services including integrated finance improvement; operations improvement; market, credit and operational risk management; and regulatory advisory services to financial institutions across banking, capital markets, insurance and asset management industry sectors. FSO includes individuals who have industry, client and product knowledge as well as quantitative, regulatory, project management and technology professionals. Our teams typically work with a variety of clients, including commercial banks, investment banks, broker-dealers, asset managers (traditional and alternative), insurance and energy trading companies, and other organizations.
We currently have career opportunities available for Quantitative Advisory Seniors and Managers in our New York office located in midtown Manhattan.
Responsibilities:
Quantitative specialists work as members of risk management teams involved in all phases of quantitative advisory and assurance projects including: derivative instrument model development and pricing, Value-at-Risk analysis, data and model analysis, development of quantitative methodologies and solutions, quality control and testing, and business requirements definition. Quantitative specialists have the opportunity to model, validate and implement quantitative risk management solutions for market, credit, and operational risk, as well as support our treasury advisory services.
Requirements:
To deliver these comprehensive services, we are looking for individuals with a minimum of 2-5 years of relevant experience in a number of the following areas:

familiarity with statistical and numerical techniques and the principles of the theory of probability and stochastic calculus;

ability to execute C++ / Visual Basic / Excel routines and analytical programming requirements;

a desire to develop and integrate their quantitative skills within a required scope of designing and implementing business solutions;

a minimum of one year’s experience working in a financial product engineering / R&D environment designing and developing quantitative methods and solutions for capital market products. Alternatively, candidates may possess knowledge of capital markets products, methodologies and financial analytics including understanding of the key concepts of derivative instrument pricing and risk measurement;

strong written and verbal communications skills;

ability to travel approximately 20%;

Master’s degree in Computational Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, or Physics

reviews, development of quantitative methodologies and solutions, and business
and functional specification requirements

Quantitative Seniors/Managers have the opportunity to model, validate and implement quantitative risk management solutions for market, credit, and operational risk, as well as support our treasury advisory services.
Requirements:

PhD or Master’s degree in Financial Engineering, Computational Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, or Physics

A minimum of two years experience working in a financial product re-engineering / R&D environment designing and developing quantitative methods and solutions for capital market products

Experience with C++ /SAS/ Visual Basic / Excel routines and analytical programming requirements

Familiarity with statistical and numerical techniques and the principles of the theory of probability and stochastic calculus

Mortgage product knowledge is critical to success (e.g. prepayment modeling, OAS pricing, collateral securitization structures)

Knowledge of capital market products, methodologies and financial analytics including understanding of the key concepts of derivative instrument pricing and risk measurement

Strong written and verbal communications skills

Ability to travel approximately 20%
