Job: Asset Allocation Portfolio Manager/ Analyst

The Position

 

Wellington Management Company has an opening for an Asset Allocation Portfolio Manager/ Analyst within the Asset Allocation Group.  The individual would contribute to the Portfolio Management of multi-asset class portfolios by generating both thematic and tactical investment ideas.   

 

Responsibilities

 

As a result of increased assets under management and a growing number of products, the group is looking to add an Asset Allocation Portfolio Manager.  This person will work with the other Portfolio Managers in the group to manage existing multi-asset portfolios and may add direct oversight of portfolios as the group’s products expand.

           

The specific responsibilities of this Asset Allocation Portfolio Manager include:

 

   ·         Contributing to tactical and thematic asset allocation investment decisions.  These decisions include equity sector and country ideas, fixed income sector and country ideas, and commodity ideas.

   ·         Researching targeted areas of the global economy to support the team’s tactical and thematic investment ideas. 

   ·         Interacting directly with the Firm’s quantitative and fundamental analysts across asset classes to identify investment opportunities for the team’s portfolios.

   ·         Participation in the development of new asset allocation products.

 

Qualifications

 

A successful candidate should have:

     

   ·       A background in investment management with experience either in asset allocation, macro, or Fixed Income

   ·       Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with other team members

   ·         Flexibility and the ability to think creatively

   ·         Bachelors or masters degree, five to twenty years of investment experience in the investment management business, and a CFA designation would be preferable.

   ·         Knowledge of instruments used in multi-asset portfolios would be preferable.
